rent flat

I’ll be moving to Scotland next week and will search for a job there. Does anybody knows if I can rent a flat before getting the job? I’m just wondering it would be cheaper then a long stay at the hotel.

Thank you all!
I would like to know if I can rent a flat without having a job, or if it is needful to have a job before renting the flat (I mean, do real states make a contract with someone that is unemployed)?

Repossession

renovate flat

My partner lives in Musselburgh, near Edinburgh and is experiencing great problems with a Polish family who are renting the bottom flat. Last year, the flat was sold to an old couple who decided to renovate it and start renting it out. They didnt have a clue though what they were doing, and put it into the hands of a letting agency. My partner has to put up with loud noise (banging) from them for hours at a time everyday. There are four of them living there; two small kids, who we think are the culprits of the banging, which is extremely unpleasant. I have been down on many an occasion to tell them to stop, but the parents just look at me blankly and take no notice. Now they are threatening us saying they are being “victimised” just because they are Polish which has angered us both.

Is there anything that can be done to get these idiots out pronto? I am due to go down for a few days in March as a holiday from college, and I dont want to put up with them no more! HELP!

Sell and Rent Back

rent back

The tenant has not paid rent for may or June. She wants her security deposit back. I had a back up in the basement that the plumbing company has not been able to repair it. I was willing to let her leave with no notice but she has not left. How can I get my money before she leaves if she does not give a forwarding address? Can I take her to small claims court rather than trying to evict her first. If she moves nad does not give a forwarding address I can not take her to court later.

Rent Back

I’ve been renovating a flat for the last 6 months, it’s a total overhaul new walls etc. Just lately the neighbour has been complaining about the noise created by the work. I work on the flat during the weekends never before 9am and I’m usually finished by 6pm, on the odd occasion a trades person will be in the flat in the evenings, but never too late say no later than 9pm. The noise consists of all the associated noises made when renovation a property, hammering drilling, etc. I never play the radio or make unnecessary noise, but the neighbours still feel the need to complain, what are their rights could they halt the work? And what are my rights? Shortly I’ll be sanding the floor boards, and that makes much more noise than any noise I’ve made so far. What could happen when I rent the flat out and there is say a young family living in it and all the associated noises with that?

Sell House Quick

the floor is a floating wood floor, with beading holding it down at the skirting board. i want to fit a hard wearing carpet over it to reduce the wear and tear my tenants could cause to the wood. then i will still have a good wood floor if i remove the capet in a few years when i came to sell the flat. could i remove the beading, lay the carpet and use thicker beading to hold it down again at the skirting board?
