I am new to being a landlord and find myself having to terminate a lease due to non-payment. I need to know what process I should follow in NC to be able to garnish wages to recoup my back rent that is owed.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the statue of limitations is for a person that owes you back rent. It has almost been a year since they moved out and still owe rent. How long do I have to sue them for it?

I plan to renovate my kitchen but want my new oven/stove top to be on a different wall. Looking at the flat pack kitchens there will be enough room to have the gas pipe ran along the internal wall to the new location (no more than 2.5 meters away if it were ran).. Other than getting a proper trades person to perform this, is it a normal thing that is done or can be done.. Or is there some sort of rule/law just in case it leaks and the gas fills in under the new cupboards?

Hi, the neighbours above us have recently renovated the inside of their flat - including fitting a new bathroom and kitchen. Their bathroom is directly above ours. We have just painted our bathroom including the ceiling - however we’ve noticed a dry yellowish stain appearing on the ceiling - which appears to get darker and wetter after we’ve used our shower. We’ve been in our flat for two years and this has only appeared recently and I wonder if maybe there is a leak somewhere above us. Problem is - the flat was renovated so it could be rented out and its currently empty - so we can’t ask anyone above us to investigate. Does anyone have any suggestions of what this might be? or anyway of dealing with it? Thanks.

I’m renovating (in Australia) and have been using Dulux in the past. However the local paint shop has talked about Solver Paint and reckons it’s pretty good and it’s a lot cheaper. This is for interior walls and ceilings and in flat or satin. I’m worried about paint density as some brands make water look thick !!

I’m 14, for a novel I’m trying to write about some troubled teens, I just wonder if it’s possible for a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old (brother and sister) rent a flat or a room in England, without the consent of parents but with the consent of an older adult sibling. The 16-yo has a part-time job.
If so, how would they do this? Would they have to sign papers?

i am 3.5 months into buying my first property. its a two bed flat in a desirable area that needs renovating and modernising. it needs double glazing and central heating and general sprusing up here and there new kitchen and bathroom would be nice. we havent got to move straight into it because we live with my girlfriends parents. we are told the sale is taking so long due to complications with the lease. because we are unsure what to do with the sale as house prices are fluctuating we have currently but the sale on hold! what do we do is now a good time to be buying to renovate? the area we live in has currently had no price drops at all. they ares still rising. please help very confused
