Mathematical Question?

At a local fate, a church is organizing a penny raffle whereby the top prize is a flat screen television.

Raffle tickets are drawn at random from a bag containing 300 raffle tickets numbered 001 to 300. The price of the ticket is the number on the ticket drawn in pence. So, for example, if you were to draw out number 218, you would pay 218 pence (£2.18). Similarly, if you were to draw out number 010, you would only pay 10 pence.

Assuming all 300 raffle tickets are sold, how much money will be raised from the sale of the raffle tickets?

Is there a quick formula that could be used to calculate this, or is it simply a case of adding it all up manually?

Sell and Rent Back

hey so i had an idea ( dont jump down my throat yet) lol
i was thinking there is a local scraps place in my city and they charge a flat fee of 85 for you to buy there animals they pick up from the streets ppl ect…
well i was thinking of get pets that ppl just cant seem to keep for whatever reason and selling them just like scraps does but lower the price, because in my opinion i think its sad that all these SWEET kittens and puppies cant find homes because the prices are so high. i think if i lower the prices that they will go to homes quicker and that will help our “animal homeless problem” our city is facing right now.

anyways my question is, what steps should i take and do i need a license for it? it reminds me of craigslist but the only difference is i’d be selling them. so what do you guys think? and i have some space for them but is this illegel? do i need a licenses for this and do i need some type of training. im just keeping them as my own pets until they find a home

My partner and I have rented flats/houses for about 6 years now and have decided it is time to try and get onto the property ladder. We graduated 2 years ago, and after working for various temping jobs (whilst chasing the dream), have now spent about 6months in full-time permenant jobs. Our combined income is about £33000. I don’t really know much about mortgages - any advise ??

Can I Rent a Flat in England Without a Job?

rent flat

I’m interested in staying in England for a year or so and I’d like to rent a flat. Is it possible to rent a place in England without a job as long as I have a lot of money as proof and the proper references? I’m not interested in locating there through a specific scheme. I’m just mainly interested in a long-term vacation but don’t want to rent holiday accomodation.

advice on an Audi 2004 a4 as 1st car?

sell flat quick

im being sold an audi 2004 a4 from a dealership for 13,000 total flat with taxes and plates, im currently a college student in my jr. year. i make around 300 a week and have saved up enough to put down say 5 thousand of down payment on the car. i know alot of people will say hey get a honda or sumtin affordable but i really like this car it looks great, runs great has been checked by our machanic, we’ve known him for years and the car has 57,000 miles on it. its jet black…. oh man. i feel that i can pay the 220 a month and 120 insurance a month. i dont have that much responsibilites as of now and i wana treat myself to this. like whem im 40 i can say hey remember that nice audi i had when i was 20. obviously the car will be ensured under my fathers name. but ill pay gas and all that. i think i cant afford it. but what iam asking for people who’ve had audi. is it like crazy to fix these cars. ive had family members who’ve had nissans and toyotas and hondas that have givin them zerrrrro problems for like 5 to ten years. without having to pay money to fix crazy stuff, just tune up and smple stuff. tires and brakes. will an audi have mechanical breakdowns because those are its tendencies or it depends on how i treat it. and is this mentality i have on the car a bad one. saying hey ill pay this car of in about 2 years. im young i wana treat myself to it. i know the car is 4 years old but it looks and runs great. people who tell me hey get a 4000 honda i feel are right. but like with my money i mostly pay ohone bills, and buy my own stuff like food and cothing, and when i go out to bars and stuff. thats runs my pockets quick. when people say buy a busted up car i feel like hey man. enjoy yourself why cant i put a little more and get a nicer car. like why be so cheappy. in life if you can give urself some treats do it. i know i would sacrafice goin out partyin all the time. but i feel its worh it … ?????

How to sell flat with a short lease?

sell flat

I have a 2 bedroom ground floor flat with a shared garden. I am interested in selling to move nearer my family. I am concerned if this will be a problem, in the current financial market.

Quick Property Sale

I have a tenant who is requesting 6% interest be included in her return of security deposit. She states that this is PA law. She only lived in the apartment for 1 year.
I looked it up on line, and found that this does not seem to be true, but I’m looking for clarification. This is what the site states:

Section 250.511b. Interest on escrow funds held more than two years
(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, all funds over one hundred dollars ($100) deposited with a lessor to secure the execution of a rental agreement on residential property in accordance with section 511.18 and pursuant to any lease newly executed or reexecuted after the effective date of this act shall be deposited in an escrow account of an institution regulated by the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, Comptroller of the Currency, or the Pennsylvania Department of Banking. When
any funds are deposited in any escrow account, interest-bearing or noninterest-bearing, the lessor shall thereupon notify in writing each of the tenants making any such deposit, giving the name and address of the banking institution in which such deposits are held, and the amount
of such deposits.

(b) Whenever any money is required to be deposited in an interest-bearing escrow savings account, in accordance with section 511.1, then the lessor shall be entitled to receive as administrative expenses, a sum equivalent to one per cent per annum upon the security money so deposited, which shall be in lieu of all other administrative and custodial expenses. The balance of the interest paid shall be the money of the tenant making the deposit and will be paid to said tenant annually upon the anniversary date of the commencement of his lease.
(c) The provisions of this section shall apply only after the second anniversary of the deposit of escrow funds.

I know it seems obvious, but am I interpreting this correctly? I want to be totally sure before I deny her this interest.

Thank you.
