I cut patches out of screen that extended 1" or so around the opening. Then I took a 1/2 moon shaped needle with thread and sewed them in place, it worked.

If the frames are in decent shape, you can get re-screen kits at Lowes or Home Depot. ~

You can get repair kits as well as new screen and spline (the rubber stuff that holds the screen into the frame) and a spline tool very cheaply at home big box stores. It is hard work to get the spline & screen in to the groove tho & helps to have a buddy to help straighten the screen material.

Many hardware stores offer screen repair. If the screens are made from aluminum mesh, they might be harder to rescreen. Cross your fingers that you have the easier to repair fiberglass mesh, or you will probably have to get brand new screens made.
