More than likely the landlord did not know the person was a ccm. Just because they're trying to move him out quietly doesn't mean they knew what kind of person he was. They probably just want him out so that no one tries to sue them over a misconception. If your agreement was merely verbal then it becoems he said-she said and you probably won't win your rent back.
