Unfortunately, when it comes to your principal residence, you cannot claim back rent a spouse owes you for the simple reason you were “in it together.”
The best recommendation however, is to get a free consultation from 2-3 lawyers (1 is bound to help you.)

it all depends on your agreement. if the rent was 50/50 & the security deposit is the same, then you are entitled to reimbursement from him. this is something that’d be negotiated between your lawyers.
He is obviously responsible for 1/2 of the rent while he was living there.. Don’t give him any money.. are you taking applications for your next husband?
