GBP300 is very low for monthly rent in London, even in Brixton. Depending on the area, a lot of people will pay that per week. Check out for rentals in Brixton to get an idea.
Ohterwise, for that sort of money, you would more likely get a room in a share house. Try for share house adds (as well as some normal rentals).
You won’t get a flat to yourself for 300GBP a month. A one-bedroom flat will be nearer to 800GBP a month. If your budget is 300, then have a look at flat or house share, or renting a room in a house as a lodger.
Sorry, but for £300 per month…you haven’t got a hope. The average private rent for a one bedroom flat in London is between £700 to £850 per month, depending on the area. Brixton, although traditionally a fairly rough part of town, is well served by transport links and is currently pretty trendy…so you’d be paying at least that amount for a small flat.
For that sort of money, your best bet is to look for a share in a large flat with other people. Plenty of young people do this, and there are always lots of flat shares available. Basically, you get your own bedroom but share the kitchen and bathroom and split the rent between you…you may well be able to find a place cheaper than £300.
