My boyfriend and me want to move in together in August this year. We want to rent a flat or an apartment preferably with just 1 or 2 bedrooms. When should we start looking at properties? How should we begin?? Thanks in advance for any help.

We usually ‘prelimlinary annouce’ properties about a month before they are available - check websites like propertyfinder and rightmove and then ring and make appointments to view. Start saving - you will need one months rent + deposit (usually a month + roughly 200) the fee for referencing (65 approx each) and the fee for the agreement to be drawn up (175 approx)
A.S.A.P. get out ther now just look it will get u’s a step ahead, see what out ther get the feel for it, look at flats for all costs, good luck…………………………
I would start checking out lettings agents now,ask around friends /work colleagues if they can recommend or not recommend particular agents.
Also check out the areas you are interested in,get an idea of current rents.
Look in your local paper/gumtree as well.
Homes for August will start to be advertised late June / July.
