Where to find an affordable flat in Sunderland or Newcastle?
I’m a 21 year old German national and I moved to England last year for work but I’m not earning that much. I’m currently living with a co-worker who owns a house, she’s offered one bedroom for me to rent. It’s alright here but eventually I would like to get my own flat for privacy etc. I’ve looked online and most of the 1-2 bedroom flats are way above my budget. I’m currently paying my co-worker 350Pounds a month inc bills and will be looking for a flat in the near future that’s slightly near that price.

I’ve just gone onto Rightmove and there are lots of flats in Newcastle advertised in the region of £400/month.
There is actually a surplus of flats to rent in Newcastle, mainly due to people from the south buying up new build flats as an “investment” and getting their fingers burned. Don’t be afraid to make an offer if you think the rent is too high.
