Ruger 10/22 semiautomatic .22lr rifle. factory magazines are 10rds capacity, but aftermarket ones go up to 50 rds. pick a spot, put some food out and mow them all down. if you have a severe rabbit problem, see about if you can buy a SAR-180 rifle. its another semiautomatic .22lr rifle, but holds up to 275 rounds of ammunition. with a bit of training that's 275 rabbits in a few minutes. Its about $1000 though.
The Ruger 10/22 is a very reliable and simple .22lr rifle, about $215 and highly customizable. unlike an air gun, it will shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger, so if you shoot one you can easily pop another half dozen before they can all run out of sight.

£5 for a rabbit - those bloody city folk will pay silly money!!

Ok, I agree a shotgun can do way too much meat damage to make your bunny saleable to a game dealer. Great for what I call pest control or keeping my eye in.

In my opinion if your going to the bother of getting a Firearm Certificate then ask for a variation for either a .17 Mach 2, .17 HMR or .22LR. Any of these are suitable for bunnies and the .17HMR is suitable for fox as long as you have it as a condition on your licence.
If your still after an FAC air rifle at the time of your application ask for a variation otherwise it will be £25 per variation plus waiting.

For FAC air rifles look at Theoben or Daystate.

With regards to your dog -sorry can't help. The guys I know that lamp use lurchers.

Good luck.

i'd go with a ruger semi-auto. they'r reasonably cheap, effective, hardly ever jam, and have lots of after market parts. just out of curiosity, where do you live?
