they buy your property about 10-15% cheaper than the market value, with the option of you renting it back- do you think these companies are dodgy. I am in the process of selling my flat to one of these people, not to rent back, just because i want to get rid quick, but i am worried i am going to get stung- has anyone got any stories to share?

Be very careful and do not sign anything until you’ve had the full paperwork checked out by a good solicitor. Lots of scams about so check and double check before making your decision
these companies are ok, if you are desperate for the money, get your solicitor to check anything before you sign because you only get about 80% of the market value. be careful
It is not 10 to 15 percent off they offer for your property. It is more like 50 percent below the price.
these companies are legitimate and make their living buying houses from folks who need to get out from under the financial obligation of owning the house. usually they are close to foreclosure and selling to them is better than forclosure in most cases. ask yourself if you’re in that kind of situation. if not, list the property for sale with a realtor. but if you are desperate - selling the house to them might be the way to go. just try to negotiate for as much money as you can get from the sale.
