I'm sorry I have no solution for you but I can tell you don't go through any of those companies that offer that service get your credit back in track because they release your credit history to at least 5 other companies and then it really start to ruin your credit. I do hope you get the right answer from someone here so you can start recovering your life. 85 miles? I thought I was crazy driving 60 miles one way to work and the way the prices of gas were there for awhile it's no wonder. And 5 children to boot geez. And by the way you probably should have listened to your wife because thanks to my husbands choice I now live 60 not 13.5 miles from work, am in a constant snow storm where highways get closed making it impossible to get to work at times and I have to drive that highway at 9-10 at night since I work graveyard shift by myself. God forbid if something happens with the car. But you know what, we are in the country, the kids go to school in a K-12 in the same building with 487 other students and state patrol goes by every 2 hours or so and I have found out there are morons galore here but it was a good move. After all he only has to drive 7 miles a day to work during the day and I work 6 and 7 days a week but get paid less so it makes sense to me.. Anyhow I hope you get some help with your credit card stuff, is there a way you can negotiate a firm monthly payment with them? Hey good luck and I hope your Holiday season will be spectacular.
