FDTV2 is not amplified(as represented by the missing "A" in the product name) meaning comparatively your signal will not be as strong as the FDTV1A or FDTV2A. The amplifier in the FDTV1A and FDTV2A amplifies your signal at the claimed +10db. 

You still need the analog to digital converter. These products you listed here are just antennas, like your typical rabbit-ear antenna, but provides much better signal and thus for the hefty price. They aren't analog to digital converters in itself. You will still need a separate analog to digital converter. Remember, an analog to digital converter will need an antenna to connect to, and stronger signal the antenna can provide will usually mean better reception on your TV.</description>
