I own a flat which is leasehold, I am thinking of selling and was wondering if anyone could tell me if the there was a rule of thumb as to whether a management company will make any charges if I decide to go ahead, so I can add it into my moving costs.

Also I got in touch with an independant HIP person to see if it would be cheaper than the estate agents quote, it came back cheaper but he said he wasn’t VAT registered. Is that normal? as I thought all UK businesses had to pay VAT?

I plan to renovate my kitchen but want my new oven/stove top to be on a different wall. Looking at the flat pack kitchens there will be enough room to have the gas pipe ran along the internal wall to the new location (no more than 2.5 meters away if it were ran).. Other than getting a proper trades person to perform this, is it a normal thing that is done or can be done.. Or is there some sort of rule/law just in case it leaks and the gas fills in under the new cupboards?
