I moved in to an apartment and the screens have slits and holes as big as fists in them. Is there any way I can repair that or will I just have to buy new screens?

Me and my wife just got married and are now living in an apartment where the apartment manager hires people with criminal records to do repairs. He wants us to be at home all the time when repairs get done and we can’t be there all the time. But that is just one complaint, we have now been living here for two weeks and no appliances work, no washer/dryer, stove, and dish washer which were promised to us weeks ago and manager said he will fix it all before we even moved in and keeps holding it off even further. We haven’t paid rent thus far but have put down our deposit of $300, we have called him several times and still get little or no help. Is this grounds for breaking a lease and also for a court action if leasor doesn’t obide by the terms of lease in which they do repairs and maintenance? What are my legal rights under Texas Law and how can I get something done? I feel that my landlord is being very cheap on us and hiring unprofessional people to do repairs. What can I do?

I currently moved out of my apartment of seven years. I was no longer living there but was still the lease holder for 2 more weeks and still had possession of the keys. Someone broke into the apartment, broke the glass out of the sliding glass door and took the other stationary half with them. My landlord states that since I am the current lease hold I am responsible to pay for the damage. The door was previously broken when I moved in and had never been repaired. I live in Colorado so I was curious if any one new what my rights as a renter are and what if any costs, if any, I am liable for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I have this interview at this newly renovated upscale hookah lounge, the place has a beautiful bar along with Mediterranean food. I was planning on wearing a pair of dark skinny jeans with black pumps, and this really nice black long v neck fitted sweater with somewhat flairy sleeves which are about elbow length from the store guess, my hair will be flat ironed out and nice, and a nice pair of earrings.

Is that nice, or should I dress more like black pants and white shirt type of things, only because I don’t like wearing and sort of pants that are not fitted or skinny.

I feel like the outfit I’ve chosen fits my personality, it’s not revealing or would give a bad impression the first time.

I live in an apartment in S. California and I’m a month/month rent tenant.
My sink got clogged up and I ask the manager to have it fixed. She came over with that un-clogging liquid stuff and poured it into my sink and I guess it fixed it.
She told me that I have to pay for the product price because she bought it and fixed it for me.
I was kind of confused because I have lived in other apartments and no matter what the manager or owner fixed it for me with no expense.
Who’s right…whos not……or it all depends on what apartment you live on? Owner is responsible or me? I don’t know…=(

Sell and Rent Back

Recently our apartment’s AC unit went dead. The complex sent out a repair man, who said the unit needed a new compresseor. He installed it and it broke again. Now the repair man and complex said we broke it on purpose, so they put in a new compressor and locked the AC. Then the AC broke again… long story short, the repair man is installing the 4th compressor tomorrow, saying we broke all the others, our apartment complex says they’re billing us $12,000 for the compressors ($3,000 each). I asked the repair man for his license # and he freaked out and the apartment complex says it’s none of our business to know his license #, so clearly he doesn’t have one. I know the repair man can get in trouble, but can the apartment complex get in trouble too?

My family lives in a apartment complex and the landlord will not fix things that needs to be fixed. I have a celing that fell on June 1st. And it needs to be repaired. My husband had a fall on the stairs because the lights in the hallway were out and he needs surgery because of this. What can I do? I wrote to three television stations to see if they can help me. A small portion of parquet (mosaic) flooring was lifted due to water damage near the kitchen in my apartment. I will be moving out soon and wish to repair the floor to avoid extra billing. What tools does one need? It’s about 8 “strips” of wood. Anyone know what Ill need/how do tackle this small job?
