Is there a usual deposit or advance rent required? Which is better to rent, a house, a flat, or other types of accomodation?
To clarify, this is in Bristol, South West England, UK.

I am looking to move into a new flat in UK. Can I look for any flat I can pay for or should I look only for flat rentals less or equal to three times my monthly wages? I know some agencies ask for such cover in other countries but is it so in London too…?

Hi, I am planning to get married in 2 months. To bring my spouse here in Abu Dhabi i was planning to take up a flat on rent. Is marriage certificate necessary to sign up a flat lease in Abu Dhabi??

I’ve been to London several times, but I still don’t know the city very well. (It’s a BIG city). But I am looking for advice on the best location to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom flat for a few months.

By “the best location”, I don’t mean the fanciest. I just mean:

1.Safe - (my wife may be there alone while I travel occassionally),
2. Reasonable in terms of rent per week or per month. If it matters, my lodging budget is around 850 pounds per month.
3. I don’t need to live in central London, but convenience to a tube station would be nice, with a travel time into central London of less than a half-hour.

Are my requirements unreasonable? Is my rent budget too low? I know London is one of the most expensive cities in the world in which to live.

Hi I am looking for and 2/3 bedroom house on portland in dorset and am struggling to find one at the moment. Ive been through the echo and the internet and am only finding flats. The landlord/landlady must accept children as I have a near 3 year old and a baby on the way. We are desperate to move to Portland as we moved off the island to Weymouth almost two years ago and now my son starts school in September we wanthim to go to school there and also because our landlord is looking to sell his house and we cant afford to buy it. Deposit and refs no problem. please reply if you have somewhere on portland to rent in the very near future i.e ASAP or know of anyone who has somewhere to rent on Portland.
I cannot use an estate agent as the lady who lived here before us still has many debts registered at this address and has completely messed the credit score up because of this. Estate Agents/Letting Aents do a credit check and we fal it everytime because of the thousands she owes

Let’s say im not working and i’ve got money saved (let’s imagine i’ve got a large amount of money) and i’m earning interest on that saved money, do i have to pay tax for it? If yes, how much?

And another question, is it true that when you buy a flat in England and you want to rent out the flat that you bought, you have to pay 33% of tax of the money that you earn to the government?
